Manawydan - Master of Craft

Manawydan is brother to Branwen and Bendigeifran and a son of Llyr. He features in the third branch of the Mabinogi. His story is one of making the best of what life presents us, accepting reality, and crafting our own way forward. He is a master craftsman, able to pick up the skills of any craft he puts his hands to. He is also known to see through illusion and is the second husband to Rhiannon after Pwyll returns to the otherworld. This piece is made with hematite, crackle fire agate and smoky quartz. It features a triple knot design. Hematite is an ironstone that clears negative energy, grounds us and keeps us present. As a metal ore it is also a part of the raw materials of the craftsperson. Crackle fire agate is a stone of creativity, the fires of the forge and the spark of inspiration. It is also a stone of action, movement and will power. Smoky quartz is a stone of transformation, practical problem solving and grounded sensibility. These stones reflect Manawydan’s role as a God of crafts, manifestation and creative work.
