Lleu - Son of Magic

Lleu Llaw Gyffes was born of Aranrhod and denied a name, weapons or a wife unless she gave him them. With the help of Gwydion the magician and trickster, he managed to acquire all three, his name meaning “He of the skillful hand”. His story is one of persistence against the odds, not accepting limitations placed upon us, resilience in the face of struggle and the wisdom found in the will to survive. This piece is made with snowflake jasper, black agate and ox eye. It also features wings and a triple spiral design. Snowflake jasper is a stone of hope and wonder that helps us to see the silver lining of optimism even in difficult circumstances. Black agate is a stone of magic and the power of the Will. Ox eye is a stone of determination, persistence and fortitude. The triple spiral here represent Lleu’s three trials and their associated stories to gain his name, his weapons, and his wife, Blodeuwedd.
