Gwydion - God of Trickery and Sorcery

Gwydion’s story, in the fourth branch of the Mabinogi is one of magic, sorcery and the cunning logic of the trickster. Assisting Aranrhod’s son to find his name, his weapons and a wife, through magic and mischief, he is a God of moral lessons, the mysteries of magic, and the journey of self-mastery. He is no simplistic deity, and his stories are challenging to unfold as there is much to be learned in doing so. This piece is made with amethyst and labradorite. It also features the Awen symbol. Amethyst is a stone of spiritual awareness that opens us to spiritual and symbolic meaning, the inner worlds and the workings of magical consciousness. Labradorite is a stone of ritual, ceremony and initiation into the mysteries. The Awen symbol speaks of the wisdom to be found in story, myth and poetry where Gwydion’s lessons can be found.
