Daear - Earth

Daear is the Welsh word for the element of Earth. It symbolises the land and identity through the land as people of a place. Fertility of the land and its ability to grow, renew, refresh and sustain us and all life. It is the rocks and stones, the mountains, volcanoes, valleys, hills, wild forests and gardens. It is the complexity of life in many landscapes, cultures and perspectives. It is the source of life, the seed of being, the tree that stretches between the Earth and Sky. This piece is made with picture jasper, bronzite and a triple knot design. Picture jasper is a stone of landscape, storytelling, and exploration of new places. Bronzite is a stone of presence, bringing us into the here and now through the senses. The triple knot can represent many sacred threes, such as the realms of Land, Sea and Sky.
