Bendigeifran - God of Compassion and Protection

Bendigeifran, or Bran the Blessed is the brother to Branwen who features in the second branch of the Mabinogion. He is a kind and beneficent leader of the Welsh people. He is enormous in size and when the need comes to cross the seas to rescue his sister, he lay across the ocean between Wales and Ireland and became a bridge for his people to cross over – a symbol of good leadership being about diplomacy and building bridges between people. Though he dies in the story, his enormous head still speaks and guides those who are left behind. It is thought his head was buried where London Tower stands today. Bran is the Welsh word for Raven, and ravens are sacred to him. They are a symbol of wisdom, clear sight and knowledge of the mysteries. This piece is made with red agate and labradorite. It also features a raven’s skull, wings and a triple spiral design. Red agate is a stone of strength, vitality, enthusiasm and personal power. Labradorite is a stone of hidden wisdom, knowledge of the mysteries and clear sight.
