Athena's Shield

This piece is made with snakeskin jasper and lapis lazuli. It also features a Medusa design. Medusa, the snake-haired Goddess who turned any who looked at her to stone, was the symbol emblazoned on the shield of Athena, the Goddess of Wisdom. Snakeskin jasper holds the wisdom of serpents: to move between the worlds, to be reborn, and much more. Lapis lazuli is a stone of wisdom and insight.
